Rss Feeds
What are the RSS feeds?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a way of keeping up-to-date with a website's latest content. Whenever new content is published on a website, it is added to that website's RSS feed and sent out to users who are subscribed to that feed, showing them the new content without them having to visit the site. For a person who reads a lot of websites daily, RSS saves time and keeps them up-to-date and informed.
RSS feeds can be read using software called an RSS reader or Feed reader. There are many free RSS readers available online. Some popular ones include: FeedDemon for Windows, NetNewsWire for Mac OSX and the web-based Google Reader.
Some sites, like SilverCircle, have different RSS feeds for different sections of their site, meaning that a user can choose exactly what they want to read and save time scrolling through a lot of content. For example, you may only be interested in Finance articles on SilverCircle. By choosing the Finance RSS feed, you will only see new articles from the Finance section of the site.
