How did we come up with the idea?

SilverCircle began in April 2009 as an entertainment and lifestyle website for over 55s in Ireland. We wanted to create an online access point for grownups to connect with relevant editorial, discounts, and each other.

We wanted to provide a free website that allowed both visitors who were new to the internet and those already familiar with it, to find useful and interesting information in one place.

In February 2010, taking all feed back into consideration and understanding the services those visitors wanted, the site was refreshed completely to include new sections, new features and a special discount programme.

SilverCircle is an independent site and as such wishes to be open to all views. It is a free to use site that is maintained via advertising and sponsorship.

How did we come up with the name?

We changed the name from EveryMonday to SilverCircle in order to reflect the community EveryMonday.ie had become. SilverCircle had grown to become an online member based community of like minded people where people can connect and friendships grow. SilverCircle better reflects this community aspect of the site.

At SilverCircle we believe that life begins at 55! We want you to enjoy all the benefits and opportunities that can be afforded by maturity. We aim to help you to live life to the full.
