Greystones Eye Centre is an independent, Irish-owned practice situated in the heart of Greystones Village, Co. Wicklow. This modern and expertly designed practice is equipped with the latest technology in eye-testing and dispensing. We stock an extensive range of designer eyewear, some exclusive to the practice, including Chanel, Prada, Versace, Tom Ford, Giorgio Armani, Dior and Gucci. At Greystones Eye Centre, as part of an eye examination, a permanent image will be taken of the light sensitive layer at the back of the eye (the retina or fundus). This retinal imaging can detect the very early signs of many ocular/systemic diseases that may be missed during normal eye testing. The fundus imaging camera provides an extensive map of the eye, detailing everything from the optic nerve to the pigment layer that lies just beneath the retina. Therefore we can not only document changes at the back of the eye that can occur due to natural ageing, but also changes that occur due to conditions such as diabetes.
